Nina Groves - Private Chef
Born and raised in deepest rural Devon on a wholesale nursery, I have been honoured to the wonderful fruits and vegetables that delight us all year round from an extensive kitchen garden.
I first walked into a professional kitchen as a young teenager. It was a fabulous local hotel with returning guests, and a team of other youngsters that have remained solid friends since. I experienced every side of the hotel from chamber, bar and waitress service. It wasn't long that I soon felt my real passion. The fast paced energy of the kitchen. It was exciting and passionate and I was eager to learn.
I dedicate my whole ladder of life to my late bosses, Terry and Janet Crump and my late parents Carolyn and John who encouraged me and supported me.
Previously to setting up Devon Cooks, I worked hard and gained my place as a private chef on luxury yachts. It was a time I treasure, thirteen years at sea and travelled and shopped in markets in over 60 countries!
I am very proud to have cooked for a royal family member, one of the creators of Google, a dragon from 'The Den’, a professional snooker player, and 'ITV' morning presenter. They gave me wonderful feedback to continue my business here in my home county of Devon and to honour my ‘Mentors’.
I am social but considerate, I aim to provide you with the best food and fun memories for your event.
